crispy oven-baked chicken thighs
Looking for an easy and delicious dinner idea? Try our oven-baked chicken thighs recipe for a juicy and flavorful meal that the whole family will love.
Well-crisped chicken skin is an out-of-body taste experience. I cringe thinking back to all of the years I spent buying boneless, skinless, tasteless chicken breasts. If that is you, today is the day we end your flavorless legacy of sadness.
Crispy Oven-Baked Chicken Thighs
Ingredients
- 1 lb of small to medium-sized chicken thighs
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400F
- Place the thighs in a single layer in an oven-safe baking dish
- Bake for 30-40 minutes (cooking time will vary based on the size of the thighs, I start checking the temperature at 30 minutes), until a meat thermometer reads 165F when inserted into the center of the thigh
- Once the internal temperature reaches 165F, turn the broiler to low and crack your oven
- Broil the chicken thighs for 5-7 minutes, turning the pan halfway through the cooking time
- Watch the thighs carefully starting at the 5 minute mark
- Remove from the oven and serve! I like to poor the juices from the pan into the bottom of the dish I am serving the thighs in to retain all that delicious, fatty flavor.
